What is the integration model?
Integration is a business model that has 2 parts: an integrator and an integrated farmer:
The integrator is the owner of the animals and who provides the feed, veterinary drugs, genetics, insemination, technical knowledge…
The integrated farmer is the producer, the owner of the farm, who has the structure where the animals arrive, and the materials and services needed to feed the pigs, provided by the integrator, for their fattening or reproduction. The integrator provides qualified workforce to take care of them, manage their by-products…
They are bound by a privity in which both look for the same: achieve a better and more efficient production with the resources provided by each of them.
This model seeks the profit for both parties when producing pigs: a win-win situation.
In summary:
The integrator provides the animals, the means of production and the services agreed in the contract.
The integrated farmer provides the premises and the rest of the goods and services needed for the activity and commits to take care of and raise the animals.
It is a distinctly Spanish success model that has made our sector become a world reference.

- Why hasn’t the integration model been exported?
